Buttock Implants Surgery (Buttock Augmentation)

Aesthetic buttock implants are the silicone gel implants placed surgically in patients who complain about the small size of the buttock. Buttock implants can be placed between the gluteus maximus and medius muscles in the hip region and sometimes behind the muscles.

The implants used here are “very cohesive gel” silicone prostheses. In other words, these implants are very rigid and do not explode or leak in any way. Also, they cannot be felt by touching in any way after the operation. Therefore, the softness and consistency of your hips will not deteriorate.

Procedure and Recovery Process

The implants are placed on both hips with an incision made over the tail end and the most natural result for the best aesthetic appearance is intended. Since the hips are needed in walking, sitting and similar activities, patients may experience more pain after surgery than in many other cosmetic procedures. Painkillers can be used to reduce pain for up to a week. Then the patient will be able to move more comfortably.

Generally, very little swelling and bruising can be experienced, so the result can be seen soon after surgery. Generally, after one month, it is possible to return to all physical activities.

The surgery has risks such as infection, bleeding, damage to nerve and muscle tissues, rotation and asymmetry.

What to Expect?

While the patient is under general anesthesia, an incision of 5-8 cm is opened on the inner part of the hip. The hip muscle is elevated through this incision and a pocket is opened so that the implants can be inserted. The buttock implant is placed in the pocket and the same procedure is repeated for the other hip. After the procedure, both areas are carefully examined for symmetry and a natural appearance. The incisions are closed, and the bandages are placed with dissolvable stitches. The patient stays in the hospital for one night following the operation lasting up to two hours. The patient will not be very comfortable for the first few days. It is important to have someone to accompany the patient during this time.

It may take up to 6 months for the patient to adapt to the new shape after the operation and feel the implant like a real part of the body.

What You Need to Know Before the Surgery

It is very important to choose the right doctor after deciding to be operated. Not all the surgeons perform this surgery and very few doctors perform this operation frequently.
